Faculty and Staff, Get Your Flu Shot: A Message From University Physician Michael Brown

On Monday, September 26, 2022, University Physician Michael Brown shared the following message with MSu faculty and staff, encouraging them to get their flu shot.

MSU Faculty and Staff,

As we approach the beginning of influenza season, it’s important that you take action to protect yourself by getting your annual flu shot.

This year, MSU Occupational Health is hosting several clinics for employees, retirees and their dependents ages 6 months and older to receive a free flu shot at various campus locations. Our next clinic is tomorrow, Sept. 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Room C102 in East Fee Hall. No appointment is necessary, and there is NO cost.

Other dates and locations are shared below. The MSU Health Care Pharmacy on Hagadorn Road also provides flu shots for MSU employees if the dates below do not work for your schedule. Walk-ins are welcome and are available Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in addition to scheduled appointments. For most employees with insurance, there is no cost for the vaccine.

As you’re receiving your annual flu shot, I hope you also will consider getting the new COVID-19 bivalent booster when eligible. This additional dose provides you with better protection against omicron and its subvariants this cold and flu season and it is available as well at the MSU Health Care Pharmacy. Use this CDC tool to see when you are eligible, and appointments can be made online.
